Hi, I am Erica Staley.

For as long as I can remember I have always had a camera on hand. Life's fleeting moments are too precious and too much fun not to capture and keep those moments forever, exactly how they happened, on that day, in that very second. There is no other way to get that moment back or to stop time in any other a way. That's the magic I feel with photography every single time. Making something out of nothing. I remember being in the darkroom in college, late at night, alone and always being enamored by the process. Seeing an image appear before your eyes that existed no where else until you physically created it, dipping it in a solution with a piece of light sensitive paper, rocking it back and forth.

The emotions you get from looking back at a photo are like no other. It reminds us of times when we were present in the moment and our happiest, best selves! Hopefully they will even make you chuckle or shed a happy tear, realizing how much time has past and how much you missed that very moment. A visual trip down memory lane, because let's face it, time is a thief.

I'm here to create emotive images that will make you smile, laugh and feel warm and fuzzy inside! I want you to see and feel the undeniable love. I am also looking to bring the best out in every person I photograph, adult, child or baby and show them in their best light.

A little background on me - I am originally from the Philly suburbs of PA. I went to college at West Virginia University ("Let's Go Mountaineers!") where I received my BFA in Graphic Design. After school I moved out to Los Angeles and worked as a freelance designer for a handful of months before landing a job in the film industry, at Sony Pictures Entertainment on the studio lot. What a dream job! I worked in Creative there for 7 years in Consumer Products, Marketing and Promotions for the Motion Picture Group. It was a fantastic experience but eventually I left Sony to pursue another opportunity, working at Hangtime Media in Creative and Production Management. With Hangtime I was fortunate enough to travel most of the country, and some new countries, as I helped to create video advertising pieces for hotels, resorts and tourism. In February 2020, I moved back East to be back with family and close friends, and still worked for Hangtime when Covid hit. Boom. The hotel industry took a hit as in turn did Hangtime for a bit, which gave me time to soul search and see if there was anything else I wanted to focus on while I had some down time to really explore it. It dawned on me that my love and passion for photography was a viable business so I took my favorite hobby and ran with it. I decided to take a leap with encouragement from family and friends. As scary as that jump was, I am happy every day I do photography. It lifts my spirits and gives me a thrill that I can ride on each day. Let me help you feel the thrill of it as well. :)
